The low shelf alters everything lower than the cutoff frequency and the high shelf alters everything higher than the cutoff frequency. The other eq that ranks with this is the Fab Filter Pro Q. It works really good, and it's included in FlStudio Producer edition. The plugin i struggled with the most to get under control. This area shows which frequencies are present along with their amounts in the input signal going into Fruity Parametric EQ 2. It's beautifully designed interface, along with the very pretty spectrum makes it a must-have. There are some pretty interesting presets available here.
